Did everybody on the West Coast get the Goldberg May Catalogue?

Rest of country wil be getting copies by end of the week.
Since they just went on the net for viewing lots and bidding, what do you think of the set up?

If you read my report on the Registry board, it was my impression that the #1 PR70 Roosie set did not fare that well in the recent Heritage sale. It will be interesting to see if Goldbergs can "deliver" for you.
Wondercoin
Moving into Type Coins, Bust, Lib Seated and Barber Quarters and Half Dollars.
Got a lot of new ones in the last 4 months. Would have even more ,but have to get a new roof.
The little Bear
PS. What do you think of their new viewing and bidding site ?

I would show him some of my gun collection and how they work.......................really work.

I can see right off the bat that you must have assisted the Goldbergs with estimates. Overall, they look fairly reasonable.

If it does well I might have a heart attack. Either way, it looks grim for the little bear.

<< <i>estimates. Overall, they look fairly reasonable. >>
Wondercoin,
Are you kidding? They aren't even close on far too many of the coins. Quite a few won't even bring the opening bid. Just a couple examples:
1969-S PR69DCAM with a minimum of $850.00. In the current market, it's a $220 to $250 coin, so it's not even going to make the opening bid.
1972-S in 69DCAM with a minimum of $200. Current market it's an $80 to $100 coin, so it won't open either.
It's very clear that they aren't used to dealing with moderns.

double or triple their value.

<< <i>Russ, just the knowledge that these coins were pawed by the little bear, should
double or triple their value.
Great,just what we need,first it was thumbprints,now it's pawprints!
with what you humans call finger prints. Whose paw print do you think is used
as the trade mark on all Boyds Bears Products. Harumphhhhhhh!

For example, they estimate the 1998(s) in PCGS-PR70DCAM at "$950 - $1100". Russ where would you have placed the estimate on this coin?

They are too low on that one. I'd put it between $1500 - $1800. Which, of course, proves my point that they aren't used to dealing in moderns.
Aside from that, though, I don't really care about the estimates. It's the opening bids that are the problem. Many simply will not sell because they're set too high - in some cases, stupidly so.
Russ, NCNE
priced as 1500 - and up. How do you really price a pop 1 coin. It just depends how badly someone
wants to have the #1 set. As for the more commen coins, many if not most are actually PR-70 DC
qua;oty even though they are graded PR-69 DC. If they dont sell ,they dont sell. But the quality
of the lower priced coins is exceptional. I can alway leave the unsold coins to Russ in my will.

I have personally pointed out the benefits of MINT STATE KENNEDIES as a series to many collectors I work with over the past couple years (most notably R. Green before he ever owned any). I have not "recommended PROOF Kennedies to anyone EVER. You will get no argument out of me that some of the estimates might not be achieved.
Of course, I certainly am "pulling" for Bear to do well with the set.
Wondercoin
and they have always treated me right. I expect the high dollar coins to set records
at the auction. If Im right I will take the wife out to dinner, If Im wrong, the wife takes me
out to dinner.

At least you'll get a good meal either way.
Seriously, best of luck.
It should be better for all concerned.

soul can do that.

Click here for the Goldberg auction. Bear's coins are in session 3.

My dealer gives me all the catalogs, unless they are special (like the Eliasberg or Bass sales). Don't see anything in this sale that would cause him to keep it, so I am sure I will have this catalog within a few days. Must be all the snow we have been getting slowing down the mail.
BTW, what kind of guns are in your collection. These sound much more interesting than any kennedy.
357 Ruger
9mm Browning
22 Cal nine shot revolver High Standard (After 6 shots, boy the burgler will be suprised when
three more rounds come his way.
45 Cal Colt Army automatic
I guess its true, while a soft word will take you far, a soft word and a gun will take you further.

If it takes more than six, I am not sure I would be worried.
Actually it is only used for target practice.
