New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
After asking Julian if he brought one, he said he had two back at his shop. He described both and I chose one based on his discription. He felt comfortable enough with me to send it on memo. Coin was as described and I immediately sent a check.
As for being "fair", he offers accurately graded coins reasonably priced.
Besides, he is a nice guy.
No, I'm not related.
Typo.
Got quoins?
I'm originally from Silver Spring,MD and have known Julian for over 20 years. There is not one negative thing I can say about him. He is one of the nicest, most ethical and knowledgeable dealers in the industry. He cares about numismatics and works to make it a better business. If you do business with him you will never have a problem. You won't have to worry when you go to sell your coins that they were overgraded or misrepresented in any way. He is in the top 1% of the good guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Edited to add: I second Kranky's motion No real names in hypotheticals.

He is strictly first class. When I started collecting seriously 30
years ago he is the dealer who purchased all my mint state key coins
for me before slabbing came about. I trusted his judgement to
purchase uncertified, raw mint state coins since I was in the
learning stage at that point. My dad and I use to go into the coin
shop frequently. The other dealer in the shop convinced me that
Julian was the person to handle the bigger stuff. These were 16-D's,
16 quarters, 14-D cents, etc. so I had to have someone who I could
depend on to deliver. He has great taste for classy coins. Everything
he has bought me has had wonderful eye appeal. All those raw coins
I bought from Julian came back from PCGS in high mint state grades.
I continue to do business with Julian on a regular basis. I can't
say enough good things about him. The part I truly like best about
Julian is not just his in depth knowledge of coins but it is simply
his integrity.

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

He has been in the business since before I was out of diapers. He represents the part of numismatics that brings integrity and trust to numismatics. I believe he would be a man of utmost honor and integrity.
