What do you think about this toned Jefferson nickel?

Do you suppose the coin is toned or is it just color from the scanner?Toned Jefferson

I have not bought any toned coins yet, but some of them sure look nice.

    My guess is it's a reflection and not the coins color. Looks like the coin has a gold hue.

    It says golden tone so I would take it at that. The purple you see might be from tilting the coin to capture the toning and is a reflection from the florescent light in the scanner.

    Looks like a scanner artifact to me.

    If you want real toned Jeffs - I've got a raft of 'em.
