There's an 1879 pattern quarter (J-1593) that grades 68DCAM. The link to the photo that was posted in March isn't working now, though.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
BigE- That one is earlier than my 1879 Interestingly Rick Kay has handled both coins. I have seen the J1098 and it is amazing! Here is my J1593. I believe that these 2 coins are the only patterns ever graded as high as Pr 68 dcam by PCGS
Boiler78, amazing coin, something made 100 years before we invented the term "deep cameo", I love the placement of the motto on the reverse---------------BigE
1805 ireland 1P ngc proof 67 ultra cameo gilt james watt sr. gilt means a bronze coin with an overlay of gold so the coin must be a monster deep cameo
see page 48 coin world april 28 2003
i have no doubt there are even earlier british dated pennies that are also deep cameo bronze mostly bronze gilt for the deep cameo!
but again later restrikes!

now a monster deep cameo that i have personally seen
and i mean deeply frosted and ultra deep mirrors to boot and it is a nickel coin is this coin if you saw this coin in person it is incredible deeply mirrored and frosted and a nickel coin to boot!
Michael- I looked at a whole case full of those coins today at Central States! They were breathtaking and Evan Gale was most especially nice to take the time to show them to me.
wow that 1866 is a good coin and rare deep cameo and i can see deep deep mirrors so lots of contrast hence a deep cameo very nice david VERY NICE
james watt jr was at the soho mint as mintmaster 1795? to 1840's? and he struck for himself and others well all proof restrikes if i am correct i am no english coin expert but he struck some with gilt an overlay of gold over the bronze and silver he made special silver lined bronze/brass capsules airtight very tight........lol like the modern cointains of today and his family sold the coins at public auction went for inexpensive prices like a month or so ago in london they went inexpensive fior there overall appearance and state of preservation
i have never seen the coins in person but i hear they are really great eye appeallinf coins
