Grade Guarantee

Would someone please explain how a grading companie grade guarantee works! Thank you!

Here's what happened to me. I bought a NGC MS-64RED 1907 Indian cent off of eBay. It looked ok from the scans. Took delivery and the coin had the most hideous fingerprint. I went to the Long Beach show and showed the coin to NGC. They said for them have the coin and they would take care of me. I gave them no money. About two months later a NGC MS-65R/B arrived. It looked great. I am now a happy camper. NGC did not ask any questions about the origins of the coin.
