Newbie question again

You people have been great to respond to my questions. I learned long ago the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. I'm hoping there are several other newbies perusing who are glad I am willing to look foolish and ask the same questions a lot of new collectors have.
OK, here goes another.
Given the degree of shenanigans going on in the marketplace - the scams, the counterfeiting, the artifical toning, etc. that seems to be running rampant - due mainly because there is no shortage of buyers who don't really know what they're doing - i.e. more money than know-how - and freely admit their ignorance...
Is there a publication that describes the many ways people are scamming others, to help arm buyers with the knowledge to spot and avoid it?
If there isn't, then someone ought to write one, and could make a bunch of money!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
