Have been looking at this one, and would like to add a nice Type 2 to my set. Trends has a 68DCAM at $250. I know the auction has some time left, but I hope to snag this one at a little less than trends. Should I be ready to go much above and if so, how much? Thanks for your input. Susie B

Have you tried buying the proof set and making your own? What would the proof set cost? Just curious.

PCGS price guide has it at $125 and a pop of 480 in 68Dcam! It does jump to 400 in 69 Dcam and a pop of 610. I don't think I would jump on it that quick and Coin Trends is high retail values! Searching for a Type 2 set is a great idea!

Yeah, I have thought about chasing some sets, and have two sitting here that I purchased a while back. One is a possible, but I have a hard time seeing the difference in the types even with a 30X scope!! So how much overpriced is Trends? What would be a better guide?

TYPE 2 S will be slightly flat accross the top. Type 1's are smooth rounded S's. I had a hard time with 9 sets at a dealer and sent in two. You have to go by the flattened S only on the SBA. Most proof sets are composites of both types. That happened to me on the two I submitted. The coins were evenly plit between the two except for the SBA's which were Type 1's. That coin is tough to view in the original holders from the mint.
