Looking for a book - Help

DeepCoinDeepCoin Posts: 2,781 ✭✭✭
I am looking for a book that I believe is titled "Numismatic Art in America" by Cornelius Vermeule. Here is where I need some help. One source told me the original book was printed in 1920 and I have found a Harvard reprint? in 1971. If there is a 1920 I would really like to get a copy.

I know the more knowledgeable here could tell me all about it in a second.

My research has led me to believe that the 1971 work is the original. Now all I need to do if find a really nice copy. I would appreciate all the help I can get. I have found there are 2 on Amazon that are used, but I was hoping to find someone I could talk to. I would really like to get a pristine copy if possible.

I might be willing to sell you my copy which is in excellent condition. I am at work now but when I get home I can see what I paid for it last year. It wasn't cheap but in the big picture of numismatic reference books it wasn't too bad of a price either. If you are interested send me a PM and I'll get back to you later tonight. Scott

The book was originally published in 1971 by the Harvard University Press. I think it's out of print but I was able to get a new copy through Stacks a couple of years ago, they might be worth a call or email. It spans up to the Kennedy era. Excellent book and I'd recommend anyone to buy a used copy it that's all that's available.

    PS: edited to correct publisher
