Board Etiquette Question

While I'm probably opening myself up here bigtime, I'll ask the Rookie question. Is it kosher to advertise your auctions on this board? I'm guessing it's ok on the vintage sportscard trading seeing as the name itself says it, but I recall seing someone respond rather bruntly to someone plugging their auction on this board. My dilemma is that I have a product that might appeal to this audience where it might not appeal to the other board's audience (I know people browse both, but I really want to reach this audience.)
What's the right way to approach this. If someone says it's okay, I'll provide more info.

You can't go wrong posting on the vintage trading board -- though it is clear that there are less people that consistently browse through those forums than this one.

I don't think it is appropriate to post links to stars, or to cards that people would not likely be set-collecting.
Spam is in general uncool, but most of the people who read this forum are actively buying PSA-graded commons, so I expect that there would be people who would be happy to see it.
So far we haven't had so much spam that it has caused a problem here.

This isn't.
Hope that clears it up.

Uniships sig line is helpful, but I would check it more often if I was alerted to what he had for sale.
