One Quick Pic Before I go to Bed

Bought this one a while ago:

I thought it was very attractive, and not too expensive. It was also pedigreed to a famous sale of the past (though no one seemed to know it, or perhaps no one cared - in either case thats OK by me).

Can anyone tell me what famous sale that was?

Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • When you said one quick pic before you go to bed I though it was going to be necessary to remind you what Confusious said...man who go to bed with itchy butt wake up with stinky fingers.
  • Well, uh, it was Eliasberg.

  • Check out this Mott Token (thick planchet). Finest that I've ever personally owned. I grade it MS-62, but it is far, far nicer than the PCGS MS-64 coin (which I believe is the highest they've graded). It actually has cartwheel luster on both sides!

By the way, it is not for sale.

    Cool token,detector find?.Al
  • There are a few very sharp Motts out there -

One in a PCGS 64 holder is the Steinberg coin, which is very sharp with a hint of red but a massive die break on the clock. Another 64 is one I have, which is not well struck, but is perfectly centered with a minute die break and excellent color - I prefer mine, so I bought it.

The best one I know about was the one sold in Bowers July 1997 rarities sale lot 1083. That and the Breen plate coin.

Remarkably well struck. If I recall right, that was made on a screw press wasn't it?
