How Many Bands for Full Band?

Okay... try and stay with me... on the back of a Mercury dime. How many bands are in the middle of the fasces? Is it one or two? I think my new Mercury dime might be FB, but I'm not sure. It's a 1944 with no mint mark in (by my estimation) MS60 condition and I got it for $3.

    bigindie,

Here is a link to a previous post I did on FB Mercury dimes. Hopefully, it will answer your question.

  • Thanks coinguy! You da guy! I wish I had your memory for these things...
  • Thanks Coinguy. Alas my Merc doesn't have Full Split Bands. It is a nice piece, though - especially for 3 bucks.

ursabear - thanks, but my memory isn't really that good.image

bigindie - sorry it's not FB but at least you now know. Besides, for $3, that would have been too good of a deal and you might have become spoiled.image

bigindie: Just thought I'd throw this in here: Try not to concentrate on the Full Bands. Make an effort to concentrate on Full Strike. IMO, if you have to pay a premium pay for a Full Strike only (which includes the Bands, obviously) image
