PR67DCAM comparision

The coins below are both graded at PR67DCAM........what I can't figure out is how. Thoughts?




Pardon the quality of the pics, the 2nd pic is reflecting the camera. The fields are super clean.

Are those breaks in the cameo in the hair? On the hazy one.

Nice coins! I'm wondering if the haze on the first coin got there after slabbing. I have had that happen with a few moderns. After a few years they start to haze a bit.

The spots above the ear look like rub marks....they are quite shiny if held at the right angle The reverse has the same thing and some bad frost breaks on the shield on the reverse.

Not rub. Just an area that didn't get squished all the way in to the die. Quite common.

Frost breaks will not necessarily keep a coin out of a deep cameo holder.

Do you all think that is really a bad dip? It looks like original, natural haze to me

They pretty much look the same. I'm thinking dip that went bad after it was slabbed because if that degree of haze was on the coin when it was graded it likely would only have gone cameo, rather than deep cameo.

I didn't realize a bad dip also looks like that. I have seen hazy coins in DCAM slabs before, I just assumed they were hazed from the mint packaging...
