What percentage of mint state morgan dollars have been dipped?

Anyone have any idea?

Does anyone know under what conditions a 100+ year old silver coin would be naturally white? Perhaps ones that were stored in bags surrounded by other coins so that air circulation was minimal should have no toning? Or maybe exposure to heat and light is the key factor in whether or not a coin tones? What do you think?

Because of the millions of BU dollars that exist, I would honestly think that a very small % have actually been dipped. These were stored until the 60's in the US treasury and most did not tarnish. I would think that only 10%, at most of the BU Morgan's that exist have been dipped.

Are we allowed to debate wheter or not a dipped coin can still be "mint state"? (Just kidding.)
