You should get Dr. Wiles' book "The Kennedy Half Dollar Book". Their are hundreds of different Kennedy varieties. Many new ones are coming up every week. I just found a new RPM that Dr. Wiles will soon add to the CONECA listings. The RPM is for a 1964-D/D it will be listed as RPM-011 Stage A DMR-30. If you would like to see all of the current listings for Kennedy halves go to the CONECA homepage and look under the variety listings category. These things are addicting and I have had the bug for several years now. BOB

Typically they have a hundred and eighty degree rotation, but are also found with lesser rotations. It's about every 1 set in 150. I've never seen a gem or near gem of this one.
There is a 1965 SMS reported with a rotated reverse, though it must be extremely scarce. An 89-D/D is reportedly found in mint sets also but is tough. A '70-D DDR can be found in mint sets. The '74-D DDO is available in mint sets.
There are numerous condition rarities. The 80-D is one which is extremely difficult to find without scrapes and/or dings. Clean ones are rarely fully struck. '71 is difficult to find in nice choice condition but the gems aren't especially tough.
I agree cladking, the 88-Ps that are rotated must have been from one die that was used until it was completely worn out. And the rotation of the dies must have occured late in its' use as all that I have seen/found have been really rough in appearance. I normally look for super nice Kennedys when searching mint sets but when it come to the 88 set I always get a little thrill when flipping over one of those rough 88-Ps and finding a $200 coin that everyone else overlooked because of its' appearance.

1998 SMS matte-finish is pretty big for a Kennedy Half.
