`03 Jeffs

Besides the bill being signed to mint the commem Jeffs, what other info is out there about any `03 normal reverse Jeffs.
Will there be both or will the `03 Monticello reverse be like a rare coin as those minted thus far are being destroyed?

This is extra interesting to me, as I have started to collect Jeffs. Also, according to figures from the N. News, production this year of Jeffs has been (in *relative terms*) very low.
Cheers, Richard.
When IS the unvailing anyway. What park event do I need to attend .?!

<< <i>Quote from the U.S. Mints Press Release-----"The Mint is moving quickly in hopes of producing a redesigned nickel in late 2003 or early 2004."
There goes the value of the current ones..
Since you do have them, how is the quality of these coins?
Got them from the place I linked to earlier.
Man was'nt paying attention and just hit the 500 post mark.

through March. Demand for smaller coins is quite low and it's likely they'll
make as few as possible to maintain the needs of commerce until the new
coin is ready. It will be interesting to see how many of these make it into
circulation. This was destined to be a "low mintage" year for nickels even
before the new nickel was approved.
With moderns there tends to be an inverse correlation between availability
of specimens for collectors and mintages.

There were many coins with very deep nicks. The majority of the coins graded MS62 or MS63, and many lower. Maybe 1 to 1.5% of the coins graded MS65FS or higher (less than 100 coins). There were a handful of MS66FS and maybe just maybe 1 or 2 MS67FS.
Considering the time invested and amount of money spent, I will not be purchasing bags of Jeffersons for 2000+ years. It would have been cheaper to wait for the mint sets of just buy them certified.
Anyone have any different experiences with late date Jefferson mint sewn bags?

So there will be two designs for 2003. Often people collect the first year of a new design and I am sure the mint will pump out tens if not hundreds of millions of each so I don't expect either one to be rare.
I do hope that more people will get interested in nickels and start collecting them
