I know I'm already crazy, but am I really crazy in thinking that 1923 and 1924 peace dollars tone the best?

    Time for a controlled experiment.

Step 1. Get a set of white peace dollars.

Step 2. Get a sack of potatoes.

    Step 3. image

Maybe it's the lighting, but something does not look right about that luster. Seems to "polished" to me for a peace. Maybe it's just me....

Step 3 means you take out all of the potatoes and put the peace dollars in the sack and let them sit for about 50-75 years, right?

That's one of the nicer ones I've seen from that lot, however most are in NGC slabs. Did you cross it to PCGS or did you buy it PCGS's plastic?

It was already in the PCGS slab. Might cross for a star but its a lock 65 only.

dubya oooooo dubya. That is a beauty. You really did a nice job of capturing the luster of the coin. How did you do that? mdwoods

Lights and many shots. These two are the best out of around 100 shots and they still don't show the luster.....it is better in person.

WOW. I love the balanced look of target toning.
