Question for any Buff experts new scans

I have a nicely toned 1914 S PCGS AU 58 Buffalo Nickel. It is dusky green and reddishe on both sides.
Questions:
Is this coin usually well struck?
Why is the 14 D so much more Money? The mintages are almost the same.
I believe this coin is MS63, The obverse has no rub the reverse does but the rub is not dull and contains no circulation marks. it is absent of color on these spots. I will get a scan later, but I was curious if the 14 s iseasy to obtain in au/ms60?
Thanks in advance.

"The strike varies widely. Both mushy and well struck pieces are common; the former are often semi-prooflike"...
The colors are better than the scan.

I still remember the talks by the water
The proud sons and daughter
That knew the knowledge of the land
Spoke to me in sweet accustomed ways
