Positive dealer experiences please!!

WondoWondo Posts: 2,916 ✭✭✭
I am looking for a cross-section of early type dealers that you, the bright all-knowing participants of the forum, have dealt with. I would prefer positive responses, please, with respect to courtesy, knowledge, value and inventory. My collection (all of five coins) has been assembled from one primary dealer (who has treated me well) but I will need other sources. What say ye? Thank you in advance!!image

  • I would go to golden eagle coins and jewelry. I have been very pleased with every aspect of that store. They have pretty much every coin in the redbook to. Thier website is www.goldeneaglecoin.comimage

I'm pretty sure that Bill Jones of this forum handles earlier material, and I know that Coinguy1 (Mark) of Pinnacle Rarities does. Both are great people.

So, what you are really saying is that Bill and Mark are part of this thing too? Russ, that’s a pretty strong allegation. You can drag me through the mud, but leave everyone else out of this!!

The dealer that has the closest eye to my own is Mike Printz of Larry Whitlow.

He is very good with fussy cherry pickers. Les

I was lucky enough to end up with one of the pieces left over after the feeding frenzy late Friday. When I figure out how to get my USB hooked to my scanner I'll post the dimeimage

If you are looking to purchase 19th Century rare date gold as part of your type set, I highly recommend Doug Winter. He is terrific to deal with and might turn you into a gold coin collector, if you are not careful.

Guys I like for 18th/19th century coins, in no particular order:

    JJ Teaparty
    Pinnacle Rarities
    John Hamrick
    Dick Osborne
    Harry Laibstain
    Alpine Numismatics
    I. Kleinman
    Larry Whitlow
    Bob Foster
    Park Avenue Numismatics

There's also this guy down Houston way that deals Seated material on the side in a very serious manner...can't find his contact info right now for some reason tho. He adverts in CW at times and usually has a LOT of key date material...anyone know who I'm talking about?

Wondo...PM me if you want more info on any of these guys.
