Bush signed the bill today

Well amoung his tripping around Ohio. Today Pres. Bush signed the bill that makes 2003 2004 and 2005 nickel law. So has anybody even seen the 2003 non commem nickels in circulation?? Heck for that matter I havent seen any 2003's yet. Well if you include the quarter I have seen a 2003 .

I'm quite happy about the commems. I'm just really angry that Virginia now "owns" the nickel after the commem period is over. Even worse, a new precedent has been started which is outside the current way our coinage designs are chosen. Yes- I've been harping on this lately but I do not accept the idea that "our" government chose to ignore collectors, keeping in mind there's no indication that anyone other than collectors and Virgina politicians cared about the nickel design.

Did you read it that way too? They now have a non-paid selected committe to chose coinage designs.Its a mysterious group
I must say.They are not to disscuss the activities to anyone outside the commitee I think.

So,I suspect we,ll see the new design soon enough,,ONCE ITS MINTED !!!!!!!!!
I guess its going to be unvailed like some statue in the park.

I received a email from the Mint today saying that 2003 Proof sets would be shipped in the next 30 days. Do you think it will contain the updated nickel or will the Mint make it like the Sacagawea and the Kennedy, buy them by the roll or some special deal to receive the new type?
