Guess this grade!

I personally think the grade on the slab is a little off..........let's see what the experts think.

The scratch showing on the reverse is on the plastic.
Will reveal the grade later.

This is a PCGS PR67DCAM. The little marks on the cheek and above the ear are actually what looks like bag marks almost. The frost is completely gone in the spots. The bottom of the shield is showing some frost breaks as well. I bought it with the intention of sending it to NCS or maybe dipping it myself to remove the haze, but after getting it and seeing the spots in the frost, I'm not sure what to do with it. I didn't pay that much for it, so it's not a huge monetary loss, it was just the heaviest frost I had ever seen on a 69 Kennedy. The marks aren't all that distracting unless the light hits it just right.

I would love to see that coin after NCS cleared the haze off. The breaks in the frost are going to be there regardless, and I think overall the coin will benefit from NCS's services.

    GaCoinGuy:

I think that you may be in good company... several collectors have not seen a 69-s Kennedy that looks quite like that. Great coin

What I would love to see even more is, if after submission to NCS, would PCGS still grade the coin (or body bag it) and if they did grade, would it be the same grade? But then again that's a whole different post! image

BTW, Ga Coin Guy - Thank you for serving your country!
