Grades posted!

Wish I could venture a guess what I thought they would be, but it would have been just that, a guess. I think I did OK. Opinions welcome.

Ogden

These coins were bought from a dealer I frequent. I paid $20.00 for the 1951 Franklin

PCGS received the coins (economy) on February 19th and grades posted today.

Cool, no body bags and all your frankies went FL (and the nickel FS). Nice results.

    Not bad!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • How did you get away with submitting different submission types on the same invoice? Good job by the way.image

Pennies make dollars, and dollars make slabs!

....inflation must be kicking in again this dollar says spend by Dec. 31 2004!

Ogden- You did quite well on that '51. With all the doubts you expressed, I would say you did exceptionally well. Very few start out that well, FBL's & FS's, with only some "guesses". Fabulous job!

    Erik,

One can submit moderns on an economy invoice. It just costs more - pay the economy grading fee on all.

Glad to hear that you all felt this was a good submission. I wanted to point out that the Pilgrim was submitted and graded initially as an MS-63 and I resubmitted because I thought (why I don't know)
that it may grade higher and it came back as PCV. The Long Island was only submitted once before this time and it was also bodybagged for PCV. This time both are staying in their slabs. I did however dip them in acetone to remove any PCV. Apparently it worked.

    Thanks all

    Ogden

I have no idea why they were all accepted on this same submission. I never thought that it would be a problem. Sometimes ignorance helps.

Russ, you mentioned about the 2000-D nickels about having full steps. Is that difficult to come by?
    Thanks

    Ogden,

I have no idea. Nickels aren't my thing.

2/19 to 4/23. Are the lead times getting shorter?

    Nice grouping! Congrats.

    Fcloud,

The results I just got were 57 calendar days, 41 business days.

So, it looks like turnaround times are improving.

  • Thanks for clearing that up Russ, did'nt think of it.image

    Russ,

I saw your thread the other day. I am really impressed with the 68dcam! Congrats, and keep it up!

Now, I must only have about two to three weeks to go on my currentl batch.

In actuality, it was cheaper to submit the two moderns with the rest. Even though he paid $4 bucks a coin more for grading, he didn't have to pay another $12.50 in shipping costs for another submission form! Good thinking Ogden! Dave

Edited to add - Good grades too!
  • Nice results. Congrats.....Ken
