DMWJR has something to say to the members of the Boards

DMWJRDMWJR Posts: 6,011 ✭✭✭✭✭
After reflecting on the last couple of days, I regret some of the things I did here on the boards. This post is not to reopen the merits of the arguements surrounding what apparently became DMWJR vs. Jadecoin, at the egging of others.

It is simply to recognize the fact that I chose the wrong formum for 90% of the content. It had been about six months since I had engaged in any of the sick banter around these boards, and I was very happy that I was able to avoid the threads. Something snapped, and I fell back into the trap. I've been under added pressure the past couple of weeks, and I guess I just blew up.

I'm human, make mistakes, and want to make known the fact that I acknowledge that publicly here. I will do my best to never let it happen again.

No forgiveness requested, none expected.

Flame me or call me a "moron" again if you want NumisEd, I have pushed myself on past it, and noticed that everyone else sure has.

I guess I am smelling the coffee while I slice up the piece of humble pie that I will be eating later.

the joy of the internet BBS is that you can blow off some steam, learn some things, let your creative juices flow. Unfortunately we've all "lost it" at one time or another image. It's great that you crossed your own boundries and came back to reel yourself in!! Congrats on venting and congrats on this post.

DMWJR, you have it all wrong!!! I have nothing against you. Did you read my posts today? I defended Legend today against some unwarranted threads that were an attempt to damage their reputation.

EEEEVEERRRRRYYYone on this forum knows that NumisEd is the biggest jerk around. I was born that way image

I have bantered many, many collectors and dealers on the forum in the past. When I first joined the forum, I was very skeptical about everything. I am a pessimist at heart. After many months on the forum, I realized that there are good people here, and that I have a lot to learn.

The reason that I raised He!! by defending Jade Coin, Inc. is that I have dealt with them many times and they have gone so far beyond the norm to make me happy; sending high dollar coins on approval, being accurate graders.................never, ever second guessing me when I wanted to return a coin. They told me that they were being hurt by the negative (and also unjustified) comments. They are very humble and simple people and it just didn't seem right to bury them.

I, at one time, slandered Legend on the forum. Now I realize I was wrong. It would be so cool if this forum was stictly limited to collectors talking about coins!!! Maybe have a separate forum for dealers?????

Doug, you are a good kid and I like you. I know you don't really care, but I am sorry for any deragatory comments I said to you. image

It turned bittersweet for me. While I was at war, I found, bought, and posted the final coin to my Lincoln Proof Registry Sets from 09-58. A very PERSONAL accomplishment for me. It put the other crap in perspective. So I posted this to finish clearing my conscious so I could enjoy the completion of the sets. They are under the name "WHITE FANG". It is probably not surprising that I have White German Shepard known as "White Fang", is it???

NumisEd, that is an apology that I am prepared to accept. Thanks.

I used to be on a Porsche forum for many years, and there was a guy who ended every post with "your milage may vary . . . "

Same here with regard to Jadecoin, and any other dealer for that matter. The original thread that the Jadecoin thing came up again was on a David Lawrence bashing session which I didn't feel was justified. I think that probably primed and c-cked me for the skirmish that ensued.

As with any coin dealer, your milage may vary . . .

    Doug,

Good for you!! We are only human and every arsehole has an opinion that wants to be heard. I do not know what the hell you are talking about, but, I did a similar thing (admitting a mistake openly on the forum) not to long ago, only I am continually chastised for what happened in the first place.

In the end, it shows a lot of character to admit one's behavior was not in conformity to your true self (as opposed to the conformity of forum opinion).

BTW - Altough I have bought only a couple of Roosies awhile back, I did enjoy our conversations and enjoyed your passion for the series. Not sure if you remember.

Way to go. Moron. And I say that in jest.

  • Hello, all.

We believe Doug has sincere and honorable intentions at heart. It's water under the bridge. The only real way to know if someone is honest and ethical is through personal interaction. Therefore, we invite anyone to stop at a show and test our coin knowledge sometime. Don't let on that you're a board member so that you'll know that we're not skewing our demeanor. I think you'll be pleased with our professionalism and genuine respect. We've already met many forum members, and hope to meet many more in the upcoming months.

In particular, we hope Doug will stop by some time. We would like to shake hands and just talk coins.

    Sincerely,
    Jadecoin

Glad to hear we are all moving on. Doug and Jade Coin, I'm glad to hear a peace has been formed. Ed, you are to be commended. Your personal experience with Jade Coin and your defense of their practices helped put an end to the pack of wild dogs attacks. I thank all 3 of you for picking up the olive branch of peace. image

Doug- I didn't know that about your set. That is one GREAT looking dog. Too many shepherds have had the size bred out of them. I bet he is a great pet.

  • Doug,
I'm not sure what you did or what you said (cuz I'm new), but it's all good from my perspective. I used to post on another message board where I would lose it from time to time. I have to say though, I don't think I was ever man enough to handle it the way you did. If everybody on every messageboard on the net behaved like this, the web would be a much friendlier place.image

Thanks for the comments from all of you. I sure would hate it if I didn't feel comfortable here anymore.

I think the message I learned here is this:

    1. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
    2. Some opinions may not be appropriate on the formum boards.
    3. Knowing when to admit you are wrong about number 2, when you still believe number 1.

I think others have missed #3 along the road on other threads, too. So maybe this exercise will have some positive effects on future posts.

Doug well said and it would be the boards loss if you felt uncomfortable and left. You are correct many of us our guilty from time to time on #3. An occasional lapse would only make us human and you certainly have rarely lapsed.
