Why people use NTC!

I watched this coin explode in price and thought I'd share it as an example. First I doubt it's a MS67 and second I don't think the toning is that attractive. But there are still a whole bunch of people out there who don't care what slab a coin is in. Its sad really. In the NGC slab this coin started out in, I bet it would have sold for $200-$300 at most. And it's probably only a MS65.

Expensive Toned Peace

Maybe I should send some of my toned Peace $ doubles off to NTC for those MS67 grades. imageimage

On the eye appeal scale, I would say the toning is slightly negative. MS67? I don't think so, and 65 might be a stretch. This seller has a long history dating back to the heyday of ACG, so his moving over to NTC is no surprise. If the high bidder in this auction is an actual bidder, he took it in the shorts bigtime. It just may be a while before he realizes it though.

centsles has some people that frequently buy from them - how long will it take a regular buyer to realize their good deals are bad deals and they got screwed?

FrattLaw did you remember seeing this coin in a NGC holder?

It's sad to see that. Someone's going to learn an expensive lesson. I see centles is selling more PCGS now with a few NTC and PCI. Must have crossed his ACG's over to those.
  • That dealer knows that he can get the coins graded cheaper, faster, and higher graded than anywhere else. Thus, he has a large number of coins for sale at any given time, for the large number of fools waiting to be ripped off..........Ken

Another no luster coin, I would give it no more than MS64.

This is exactly why I would never buy anything, even a PCGS slab, from slime like this. Why support him?
  • I can't believe that sold for $610.00.Stupid money just for the toning.I like mine much better, only $22.00 raw for 24-P and $8.00 for the 24-S both residing in my Dansco.

Looks a little suspicious to me.

lots of bidders with 0,1 or 2 feebacks.

This company is the heir apparent to ACG. Perhaps not quite as blatant, but trying hard. I don't think they are as prone to slabbing counterfeits as ACG (who is?) but give 'em time.

As long as there are suckers, there will always be slimeballs and scumbags out there.
