"/" is non-searchable on ebay...what about overdates???

You can no longer search ebay by using "/" symbol in search. I have listed 1887/6-O Morgan in the past. Tried searching for similar coins & now ebay says "/" symbol in non-searchable. Since this ("/") is standard practice for describing overdates, how do you search for them...more importantly, how does a potential bidder search for over dates. I tried "7 over 6" & still nothing. I used to bring up 5 or so coins searching 1887/6, now nothing. If cannot use the "/" & writing it out long hand (7 over 6) does not work, what else is there to do to list overdates?

  • The only thing I can tell you use the "*"asterick. Will bring up more hits, search like 1887* and it will pull up every combination of numbers and letters after 1887. Hope that helps.image

Try something like "1887 over 6" or "1887/6 overdate "
