To be truthful, I did not know this till I saw it in Coin World. According to CoinWorld, it is the 80th year for this week's event.

So what are we to do?

Do you mean what should we do on the forum, or what should we do w/in our local communities?


Not sure what we can do in the forum, but local clubs/individuals traditionally put together displays/events to educate/indoctrinate, induce participation for/by non-collectors, e.g., putting up an educational display at my daughter's middle school; letting her take in a numismatically related show & tell; taking a few coins in to work and give a little to-do on their history, etc.

I think that the use of coin dip should be banned for the entire week of National Coin Week!! That will probably bring ebay to a screetching halt!!
