For your favorite series, if you could afford one coin for a type set...

...would you pick the highest grade common date that you could afford, or a lower grade key date? I'm thinking of a situation where the population numbers are in the same ball park.

I always go for the common date in a higher grade.

A "type" set displays the best possible coin of the type.

If you can afford the same grade in the rare date, go for it. Of course it's better.
