What's with Trade Dollar toning?

Although they have more silver than the seated or Morgan series, the COMPOSITION is supposedly equal. Yet, I believe I could spot a Trade Dollar across the room just by the color. Is it just me or do they tone differently? Circ or BU.....same thing. Just not the same as either seated or Morgan. Surfaces seem far different.
