John Adams

I just finished reading the biography of John Adams by David McCullough, and it struck me that, even though Adams' contributions to the revolutionary cause rivaled, and in some cases exceeded those of many of his contemporary patriots, I do not recall ever seeing his likeness on anything numismatic other than a medal. Am I correct in this? Has he appeared on any currency that anyone knows of?

Adams would be a good choice despite all jeers from those that don't like dead presidents on coins. The closest you could come is being able to spot him on the back of the $2 with the other Declaration signers. "His Rotundity" (as his critics of the day called him) is pretty easy to see in a crowd. Pound for pound, one of our greatest founding fathers.
