Hey, you there by the computer - grade this 1813 Half Dollar

The reverse is comparable. I would have attached it, but the only thing I am worse as than computers is cooking. There was this one time in college when I caught my kitchen on fire while making a can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup, but thats really not relevant here. I'm not making that up though.
Anyway, whats the grade?

Looks like some wear on the hair under the "Y' (would be helpfull to see the reverse). If that is wear, could be that someone did a great job cleaning it up as well.
55 or 58
If it ever goes up for sale, please let me know

You see what happened was some of the soup boiled over the top of the pot and started to drip onto the stove top, so I figured I'd just wipe it up so it wouldn't create a huge mess. But the paper towel I was using caught on fire from the cook top and I started to panic, dropping the paper towel onto the rug in front of the sink which immediately went up. In about 3 minutes the whole place was on fire, which I can tell you completely sucked.
However, besides being dipped, I guess the half is a 55 coin. Have a nice holiday.
I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

Stop cooking, and sell me that coin
As for the coin, I don't own it. It appeared in a not-too-long ago Early American History auction in the aforementioned ACG holder and brought $3,335. I don't track these prices at all, but I'm guessing thats kind of a 'it might slab as a 4 at PCGS so lets take a punt' price.
Either cleaned/whizzed or MS63

Attractive coin... it may have been dipped at some point. The lustre is appealing and the strike is above average. The cheeck has some hits that look distracting and keep the coin from a higher grade...MS62.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
