Is this AT or real?

I'm 50/50 on this one sometimes i look at it and i'm sure it's real the next time i question it so i figured i'd ask to get a bunch of peoples opinons

So lets hear it, what are your thoughts?

    It's neither. The surfaces are trashed by oxidation leaving a grey lusterless surface, but the toning that did all the damage was dipped off long ago. The little color remaining happened after the fact.

    Ash, grey, and white on coins is not toning, it's microscopic pitting similar to sandblasting.
