David, I submitted a 1916 Buffalo nickel that has the best look I have ever seen to PCGS. IT was graded AU58. I submitted it as a business strike. I now think this baby is a proof. Would the graders automatically change it to a proof if it was submitted as a business strike? Thanks in advance!!

The graders are pretty hip to Matte proofs and would certainly always consider the possibility with any 1908 to 1916 issue that comes that way. We occasionally surprise a submitter with a Matte proof he didn't know he had. If your coin has been thru here already, it's extremely unlikely it's a Matte proof.
