How long........

......after you started collecting before you decided to concentrate on a certain series?
Or, you dove right in from the beginning and said to yourself "this is what I want to collect".
I am still jumping from one thing to another, but my current favorite project is to complete a complete date-run set of American Silver Dollars from Flowing Hair thru Peace.

  • I also jumped around between series. I setteled on SBA's and SAC's plus a BU/PROOF album for ASE's. I have a nice registry set of SBA's and SAC's both PROOF and Mint state the SBA took two years to build, and the SAC is a work in progress. IMO we are in a sellers market, I only buy I dont sell and buy. I have chosen to sit back and wait for the correct time to get into my next series, which I have not yet decided which series it will be.

So far, I have never concentrated on an entire series. I get so far in them and then just go onto something else. With the exception of silver roosevelts. Those, I bought as a complete set. Some FT guys in there that PCGS and NGC will probably never get. I started a concentration on morgans, but after a few months I went to type sets. Then from type sets to just eye appealing coins that entertain me. Sometimes, though, those coins will end up being a new date in the morgans or a new type. But that's more circumstance. I have thought about completing a merc short set from 1935-1945. I have 4 in it right now. Probably will get some more and then move on.
