I became a coin collector. Well, actually, one year ago today I joined the forums; not really a collector yet.image Really more like a student with over 9500 teachers.

So, thanks for all the tutorials, research material, answers and free education I've gotten over the last 12 months!image

Glad you're here, Russ. You have been tremendously helpful to me, and generous with your time. Whether it was photographing coins for me, or helping me with technical questions about eBay or the forum. You are not one of those who I get the impression will collect for a few years and then lose interest. Sorry, I think you're a lifer.

May the next year, and coming years treat you well!

If more novices applied themselves like you have done, there would be a lot fewer sad stories out there. Hard to believe it's already been a year since I did a double-take at seeing "Russ, NCNE" here.

Just think, a whole year without anyone flami-- oops, well, you almost made it. image

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    Russ,
Always happy to see new collectors, amd more so, new collectors with passion. Now we just have to get you hooked on Frankies with the same passion, so we have someone to sell our collections too. Hell, nobody else will buy them.image

Oh yeah, I forgot. I had a con call with Steve Balmer of Microsoft earlier today. I have arranged for Russ to receive the "much coveted" MCSE!!! Now he can replace the NCNE!

    Congrats Russ

Yes, I remember my first PM with little Russ. He wanted to know what an accented hair was, would '64 Kennedys be a good place to start his collecting and why would anyone post more than 9,000 times in a year. image I consider him, and many others, a good friend even though we've only talked in cyberspace. I'll count on his knowledge even more in the second year. image

<< <i>Well, results are in, and I suck. (Heh, Heh) Good learning experience, though. I added the actual grades next to each of my guesses. >>

You have achieved in one year what most collectors of 10 years have yet to comprehend!

    Congrats!!
