Antietam Commemorative. Memories of the Battlefield.

I was just talking to someone (pm actually) about the Antietam commemorative half. I mentioned the battlefield in Maryland. Here is the text of the message in case anyone is interested.
I've been to the Antietam Battefeild twice. It is pretty much unchanged. It is also very eerie. Also, I have walked across The Burnside Bridge. There are many in that area constructed the same way. Georgia sharpshooters keep the Yanks from crossing the bridge all day, until Gen. Burnside, a notorious teetotaler, promised the troops whiskey if they crossed the bridge. Needless to say, that did it. However, the Rebs held out long enough to give the rest of their troops a chance to withdraw.
Antietam was the single bloodiest day for Americans in any war. Mark.
