Ebay shill bidding Nailed

Figured you guys would get a kick out of this. There are more but I think you get the point. Check out the seller is this a common thing? Ebay decided to give a warning to the seller and I can't see why. Should he not get the boot what do you think?

What, don't you think bondman just has a few happy buyers that follow his auctions?

He is happy with those buyers -> rocket payment !!!

Look at the current auctions and guess you the next one in line is.

Can you explain further? I have bid on many many coins with the same seller because of their stellar reputation and quality coins. Does that mean I am a shill bidder?

    fcloud,
Not at all. I also have a few guys that bid and win and do send back items. The guys that bid on mine if tracked do alot of buy it nows on auction or out of my ebay store that most don't even see. They are not NO RESERVE AUCTIONS. But Do you see any feedbacks on these users? The reason ebay booted is that they are all registered under the same credit card name. This is only for the last 30 days ebay can check the last 6 months or since the user registered. That should just about cover it.

Isn't this the seller that many forum members have complained about manipulated and enhanced auction images?

All those NARUs, yet bondman22 himself continues on? Doesn't seem right to me...
  • RussRuss Posts: 48,514 ✭✭✭
Well, he's a Power Seller. Takes an FBI investigation to get them NARU'd.

Russ, yes this is the guy who doctors his photos. And the guy who gets 3x what I do for similarly toned Morgans. He is a major reason people like me are being forced off eBay because no one trusts honest images on eBay anymore. And with all that shilling, they allow him to stay on eBay. Makes me sick.

Boobman opps I mean Bondman needs the big ebay boot.
  • How much money did Ebay collect from the sales of this seller? Will they boot him or will they hold on to their golden goose?

Ol Bondman got busted huh? Good, thanks for the info Mike. Ever email Bondman and ask the seller a question? I did once and that told me he's a sassy jerk.

  • The penalty for shill bidding is not very severe. A couple months ago I managed to get 3 people NARU'd for shill bidding (including easyman/bbycoin). All 3 were NARU'd for exactly one week. So the only negative thing that happened to them is that they were slightly inconvenienced. Reporting shill bidders to ebay is not worth the trouble. image

  • I purchased an 1889 gold coin from a seller on Ebay a year ago and had it graded by PCGS to come back as a "Authenticity Questionable" and attempted to reclaim my money but to no avail. The seller said that too much time had elapsed ( 2 months). I contacted Ebay and all they could say was that I could get them for mail fraud. Would have been nice to have Ebay make the attempt to contact them to get my money back!!!

They will warn him. But this guy still needs to go. Atlesat iF HEE CouLd SpeLL. We all have spell check don't we? If not you better get or your kids are going to make us all look stupid.
  • I agree with shoeman. I contacted EBay about an "individual" that had created a second user id to "bid up" my auctions and not pay (he made it really obvious who he was in reality). The EBay think tank NARU'd the 2nd ID but left the 1st one alone!

Good job Mike. I do not understand eBays lack of action. If all the Power seller logo means is you do x number of dollars per month on eBay then its useless. There has to be some sort of accountability!

A bunch of his current auctions had bids from his shill accounts. What do you bet the auctions are closed before the end?

  • sinin1sinin1 Posts: 7,500
I bet you they are not closed before the end -

eBay likes this type of seller MUCH better than the ones that cancel all bids and close the auction in the last seconds because they ARE getting closing value commission when the shill bidder gets stuck AND the item will probably be ran through again in the next couple months.
  • RussRuss Posts: 48,514 ✭✭✭
sinin1 has an excellent point. They'll NARU a seller for closing auctions early because they don't get their money, but let them slide for shilling because they do.

The thing about bondman's scans are that they are all sooooo washed out and over-saturated...often you cannot even see the plastic slab in the photo, its color has been "lost" because the colors on the coin have been so tweaked. Good scans usually show the slab/label as they look in real life...a good tip that the coin in that slab is probably a decent representation of what you're going to get. Of course, PL/DMPL coins are another matter as their scans ALMOST ALWAYS exaggerate cameo contrast.

    Beware the bondman.

No, no ShoeShineBoy. That is not so. That is what Sean lives for. It is his sole purpose in searching Ebay. He's not looking for coins. He's there to make accusations. With or without proof. image
