Well, congratulations to 55Bowman aka Marc for winning this razor of a card...I bid valiantly against him but he persevered in the end. I would feel awful about having cost him an extra $1,300 (since the next highest bidder was at $2700) except for the fact that he ran up that 75 Schmidt 9 on me a couple months back lol...in any event, a great purchase and beautiful card.

outerbankyank on eBay!
I wish I could say that I planned on keeping this card long-term. In fact, I very well might. I see three primary potential avenues of what I might do with this card. One might include keeping the card, one might include selling/brokering a deal with a well-known collector of such cards, and the third might be using the card as trade leverage for one of the few remaining cards on my wantlist.

I wish I could say that I am mad at you -- but I'm not. I think the card sold for close to what it is worth. At the very least, I have a little bit of control for the time being. I know that one of the people that is interested in this card would pretty much assure that it would be stored away in his collection for the next 15-20 years!

Sincere Congratulations on the Fergie card....rarely do you see a 1 of 1 HOF PSA 10 RC from your favorite team! It is a true masterpiece.....but why do I see a Mike Schmidt PSA 10 RC in your future?

Congrats on a sweet card.
On another note shoot me your address again.
Lost three days of email yesterday.

a thread dead for seven years comes back to life. is this a record?
Traded it many [5?] years ago. Fergie card was great, but never meant for my permanent collection.

I know that Cardinals and Cubs fans both want the Brock rookie and the (even more attractive, IMHO) '63 cards, as well as the '64, for different reasons. Cards supporters beccause he's such a key guy for those iconic '64, '67-8 Series teams and Cubs fans because they like to dream about things that didn't come to pass. Is it like that for people imagining Ferguson at Connie Mack and the Vet?
I think the feelings you were wondering about would be more mixed for Mets fans and HoFers like Nolan Ryan... They got a nice taste of having him, but not as long as he should have been able to stay a Met.
it may sell at this price.
