One or more large batches were just graded. The other day, there were about 800 graded, with 13 PR70DCAMs. Now there are 2,500 graded with 48 70DCAMs.

    13/800 = 1.6%
    48/2,500 = 1.9%

Short story is more were graded, and 1.5 to 2% are making the grade.

My opinion-avoid the plastic pimps that would tout this heavily depreciating asset as anything of significant worth.

Brian: I can't reproduce your numbers and, in any case, I believe you are referring to 2002 and 2003 while Rick's question related only to 2003.

Rick: this was the first week that 2003 proofs are shown in the pop report. There are 13 PR70DCAMs out of 797 graded, or 1.6%. Previously there were none shown at all.

The corresponding total numbers for 2002 are 35 PR70DCAMs out of 13,392 graded or only 0.3%. However, since the beginning of December when PCGS's policy on 70s changed, a total of 3,993 2002 state quarter proofs have been graded. So the 35 PR70DCAMs are 0.9% of that number.

So it seems that about 1%-1.5% are now being graded PR70DCAM.

I noticed that Tulving.com is listing 2003 PR69DCAM clad quarters now on his specials page. I thought someone said earlier that DHRC buys all the PR70DCAM stuff from Tulving. Maybe Hannes submitted a ton of stuff, some of which was graded P70DCAM? If my theory is right, you should see the PR70DCAM's at David Hall Rare Coins
