I am having a hard time seeing the DDO though. Where is the doubling seen the best? This humongous image ought to do it, although the lighting and thus the color is somewhat skewed:
Ya' sure that's a 1878 Vam 38, a doubled tail-feather reverse?
The VAM 38 obverse exhibits the strongest doubling on "LIBERTY" of any Morgan dollar. It is also the most common 7/8tf variety, Further diags: the top right points of all the stars on the left are notched and there is supposed to be DRAMATIC doubling at the base of the letters in EPU, with RIB showing the greatest shift.
You can usually see doubling on the surface of P in Pluribus that looks broken in a few places.
If this is a Vam 38, none of the diags are viewable, at least, not on my monitor.
In any event, it is a dramatically toned specimen and nice to view.
As I typed this response, you put a much nicer image, where most of the diags are now visible. Very nice. Even the doubling in the date is clearly visible. Very nice imaging. "Eye spikes" and all.

I think that's probably my favorite of all that I have seen!
You have some incredible toners. This one is one of the nicest.

I can't resist. Two more views.
