Congratulations, Conder. It must have been quite satisfying to finally get to see your work in print! Did you let John Burns know so he could stock a few?

Kranky, I called John yesterday and got his answering machine. I left a message but I haven't heard back from him yet. I think he probably will handle it. He was a distributor for my last work and according to him he actually sold half the print run! Of course I don't know how large the print run was, the publishing of that one was handled by another dealer. I don't even have one of the published copies of it, just the manuscript copy. I don't think I even have the computer files of it anymore.
I can see what is next, this book will be a huge success and large numbers of people will start collecting slabs. As more people collect them, prices will rise, which will lead to debate over the grade of the slabs themselves. Them someone will start slabbing the slabs! Never ending cycle starting here kids!

Actually this one is not over yet. I still have to handle all the orders and get them all shipped, I'm looking into the needs of further print runs, possibly dealing with other printers, etc. Then after a brief rest I need to start revising to include the new data and items that have turned up since I cut off new data in Dec of last year. (There are at least 2 companies and 8 varieties that have turned up since then that are not in this book.) There are still some varieties that I have not managed to get pictures of so I still have to find those. There is more background data on the various companies that still needs to be uncovered. In three to four more years I may need to publish a second edition or at least a major suppliment .
I may also go back a start researching die varieties of Shield nickels again. Another book that is a LONG term project. And another one with a very limited market.
By the way I called this OT because it didn't really discuss coins and was something of an advertisement. So I marked it OT so people who weren't interested could just skip it.
