I must have an addictive personality! Coins are a problem now!!

I took 6 months off to do 2 realestate deals. In March I decided to sell some coins on eBay. Extra stuff that I didn't need or want. Took the photo's, listed the coins, 3 coins sold for $1,000.00. Then I saw the DCAM ikes... bang spent the grand... I just caught myself looking for the BUY IT NOW on BigD5's auction here SOMEONE STOP ME

I want to not make any purchases, save money and buy one of the super-duper rare expensive Half Dimes in ms 65ish but MAN I can't stop spending the money!!


Does anyone else have a problem controling their spending? My family is doing great, we're not missing meals etc... but I JUST CANT STOP BUYING SO THAT I CAN SAVE FOR THE BIG SCORE!!

Had the same problem myself.Everywhere I looked in the house was coins, coins , coins.
Started selling them off and I'm gonna upgrade my Peace and Buffalo Registry sets and let it go at that.
Now I'm getting addicted to selling. Twowood

I had a buying problem last year. Bought all sorts. Even earlier this year I spent a lot. Now, I think I'm done for a while. The fire is largely gone for acquiring anything new. I have 3 submissions that have not yet returned. After that, probably nothing except for mint purchases later in the year. But I think I'll buy again at the end of the year.

I am in bad bad shape myself. I sell only to buy back double what I sold. I am a hopeless addict, and it is really bothering me now. What is really frustrating is that it doesn't matter if I have ten duplicates of the same date, if another comes along and the coin is nice I have to own it.

I have to hurry and discover some cool invention or create some big company in the next couple of months to get some serious dough to hit this addiction right where it hurts the most...by buying every coin in sight!!

Funny thing is that I thought that if I ever achieved the pinnacle of making a pop top Accented Hair, I'd be satisfied and the hunger would subside. Well, that lasted about a day, and now I'm once again scouring and hunting to try and find an even better one.

I would suggest transferring the source of the money you use to buy coins to another account -that should put a brake on the spending. There is no question that compulsive coin buying can become a real serious problem.

I've got it bad too. Not only the financial impact of this hobby, but the amount of time involved looking for gems to add or upgrade is nuts! I don't watch TV anymore and I'm up late every night. I thought my new hobby would subside after awhile, but it's getting worse! Russ, sign me up for the first meeting.
