Copper collectors eat your hearts out!

I made my monthly trip to the local coin show this past Sunday, searching for raw IHC's to fill my second set of au/bu coins. I ran into a guy who used to own a coin shop that I literally spent hours in back in the 60's. We were both drooling over a pink and blue 1918 Buff, which I know he wanted so I refrained. Anyway we got talking and ended up popping are car trunks open and comparing our albums of lincoln cents and IHC's. Here we sat at an outside hotel table in the beautiful sunlight going through each others albums. His complete set of lincolns were some of the most gorgeous coins I have ever seen. There wasn't a copper tone that was missing. His 09svdb, 14-D, 22 no D strong reverse and 55 double die were killers. The best part was I got to hold them between my fingers and got the full 360 plus rim view of the coins. No plastic in the way. In fact ms grades never came up, no talk about upgrades, regrades, AT or pop reports. All we did was talk about the coins.
Two hours later we agreed to meet again, bring our extras and horsetrade. I can't imagine a better way to spend a sunny afternoon in Northern IN.

Nothing prettier to me than a collection in a good quality album.
. . . . but there are great benefits to 3d party grading
