New Addition To My Colorful Washington Quarter Registry Set

Been wanting this 1944p Washington quarter PCGS MS67 for some time. Guess I finally pestered my friend long enough to where he finally caved in and sold it to me. Also received a nice 43p MS67 as part of the deal. Love them and both will be highlights of my PCGS Colorful Quarter Registry set. Thanks friend!image

Man... from the look of it, you're gonna have to be pestered a lot to sell thoughs. I'll be in contact with you in ten years... if I remember... which isnt likely image.

Rick, flat out gorgeous quarters....in fact, you have a quite the MONSTER set of beautifully toned quarters. I dare say I believe you have the #1 set in term sof visual appeal (if one is so inclined as to favor color toned coinage)......too bad quarter sets aren't also ranked in terms of visual appeal......maybe someday..........

Couple of more holes to fill and you'll be joining the 100% club. Keep going!

Rick, gorgeous coins. Let me ask you the same question Ive been asking for a while on these boards -- without a "good"answer yet. Can you determine what causes the various colors? What source creates what color? what materials, papers, whatever? Its just a point of curiosity I have. cheers, alan mendelson

  • Alan, unfortunately I'm not the one to be answering the questions you put forward. Hopefully one of the resident toning experts will come forward with some good answers to your questions. I'm curious myself, expecially with the amazing toning on the 44p.

  • Gorgeous coins, Rick, and one awesome set you have goin'!
Don'tcha hate when friends need pesterin'!!! image
Looks like those two were well worth it. They'd be highlights in any Washington set! Congrats on scoring 2 beauties. You and your friend have good eyes for them colorful coins! image

And if Craig says that your set is "#1 set in terms of visual appeal", it Really must be one AWESOME set! image

  • Thanks Don! I do believe I have you to thank for a few of the dates in my set. Most recently the 49p and 39s. And yes, if anybody knows good color it's Craig.image

Hey, you don't happen to have a nice colorful 41s laying around?image

  • Rick,

Glad that I could play a (if just a small) part in the assembly of such a fine set. The '49-P is the nicest that I've ever seen, and the '39-S has more eye-appeal than the MS66 that replaced it. The '55-D would be in my set if Craig didn't like blue so much! image I doubt that I would have parted with any of the three but for Craig's hookin' me with some awesome lures! image

Best of luck in fillin' the holes with worthy pieces. I do have a colorful '41-S, but it's not just layin' around. It's locked-up with my set, and will take some heavy pryin' to bust it loose! image

  • Hmmmm, I'll have to get Craig to take another look in his tackle box and see if he can come up with a few more of them "awesome lures"image

Wow, wow and wow. If I owned that beautiful quarter, you

would have to do more then pester me. You would have

    .........................................................................to kill me.

    Congratulations on a wonderful toney.

  • Congrats on another gorgeous, "colorful" addition, Rick.

Our friend could easily "lure" me into that '54-D,... in which case, I'd be willin' to set you up with a colorful '41-S! image

    FULL Heads RULE!
  • Don, I've been on my knees shamefully begging for the 54d forever. He hasn't budged even though I've made it a full-time job pestering him. I think he's immuned to me now. At one time I use to get some sort of response from him, now he just ignores me...Damn!!! Ultimately it's up to him on who he wants to sell it to, if and when...GOOD LUCK!!!

  • Rick,

We might have better luck if we could come up with a blue MS68FB Roosieimageimage
