Wanted: PSA 1 through 6 of worthless common ...

... I was going through some of my extra cards and realized that I had examples in PSA 7, PSA 8, and PSA 9 of this 1970 Topps #194 Chuck Manuel card:

I thought I might try to complete a "new" type of player set - one that has every graded example, PSA 1 through PSA 10 (the "master" set could have the qualifiers
). Has anyone ever tried this? Let me know if you have any of this card already graded PSA 1 through 6. I'd be willing to pay your cost of grading + s&h + something for your effort. I probably have raw examples that would grade 4, 5, & 6 and I could probably "create" some 1, 2, & 3 examples, but I thought I'd give you guys a chance to unload your "mistakes".
I already have an idea for the set weighting.
Wouldn't it be funny if I only needed a PSA 4 to complete the set and submitted a raw card that came back a PSA 5? I'd have to crack it out, ding it up a little more (maybe take a pencil eraser to the front), and resubmit, hoping that it didn't come back a PSA 3!
With my 1970 set at 95% complete, you can probably tell that I have some free time on my hands.

Funniest thing I saw at that show...
<< <i>Yeah, then you could advertise a PSA 3 on Ebay as a 1 of 1 and watch it bring huge money because 8 people need it to complete their set. That would be awesome! >>
Wabbitwax,
Never thought of that. Good idea. I could make a fortune!

LOL, that is very funny.
I think it would be neat to pick a favorite card and grab it in every grade. I may just do that sometime myself...what the heck.
I'm sure I could come across enough "cracked" K Kards to make a complete set PSA 1-PSA 10....
(but those are some REALLY UGLY cards!!!....)
Good post.

That was hilarious. This is the funniest thread I have ever read. Maybe I could trade a 4 and 5 for a 9 with somebody.

His ebay id is something like bigeddielittle.
It would make a great display to show the different grades.

Oh yeah, no PSA 10's yet. So currently, I'm only missing the 1 card graded 3 or 4 to complete my set of currently graded PSA cards.
So, who's holding out on me here with the PSA 3 or 4? I'm willing to pay 3X PSA 6 SMR for it! (SMR is $2 in case you wondered).

I think the display idea is a real winner - sort of like those evolution charts from ape to upright man!

I like the evolution analogy. That's a good idea. I may try that. As far as your possible PSA 3 goes, I have 24 raw '70 Chuck Manuel cards, so I can "manufacture" just about every grade I need - except PSA 10 - They usually catch it when you try on the high end.
I was just hoping someone here already had the one graded 3 or 4 to save me the trouble of submitting it.
Thanks anyway and good luck with your set.
