but what would you do under these circumstances?
I was checking out some dealer web sites late last night, and came across a 1927-S Merc in MS64. I called this morning and got a description, and was told that it's white, and a nice coin for the grade. I said I'd take it, but what lousy timing! I'm writing checks for income taxes tonight, and property taxes are due at the end of the month. Looks like I'll be eating PBJ's and ramen noodles for a month , but I know the '27-S is tough coin to come by. I should have it in a couple of days, and if I don't like it, there's a 7 day return privilege.
I rather not divulge the name of the dealer until I receive the coin and have a chance to post a picture. It was just added to their inventory yesterday, so I guess I got lucky.
It would be nice if you Merc guys and gals would help save me from myself, and snap up any dates that are missing from my set, if they happen to make an appearance over the next month or so. In the meantime, I'll have to cope with "buyer's remorse", but that will disappear quickly if the coin is a nice one.

On another note I totally sympathize with you

Edited for typos, wish there was a spell check...........
Sounds to me like you really want that dime, and it is one that is truely hard to come by, so go for it. PB&J really are good for you.

Jim nice catch and congratulations.

Never pass on a key date like the 27s that is described as you like them. They don't come around that often.
