Check out these prices for unopened 1970 Kellogg's

I would be curious to find the explanation here on some of these bids Very very aggressive:

Kaline

Rose

Bench

Mays

Stargell

What is interesting is that out of all the cards the Stargell is probably the surest bet to provide some return (if Graded a 9) I would guess these bidders are hoping for some PSA 10's ? Of the 10 unopened packs I have bought I have gotten 7 PSA 9 's and did not submit 3 as they were 8 or lower upon inspection....

Those are by far the most insane prices I have ever seen for the 1970 Kellogg's cards!!

$206 for an unopened Willie Mays!!!!!

What will these guys pay for unopened cellos?

  • Funny that you should mention that Jeff

I have opened many of those single sealed packs. Trust me when I say that you had a phenominal success ratio. I was lucky to get 50% of the cards worthy of submission, and though I did receive 9's, never a 10.

To go these levels for those packs is folly IMHO

Basilone, I've been telling everyone for a long time - Chicks Dig 3-D!

    BTW, Good one!
  • Paul,

I agree with you 100% even with my doing better than 70% on submissions for PSA 9's these prices do not make sense.... Hey MAybe I should put up some of the Unopened cards I recently won up at these prices...... Jeff

Probably player collectors. I know I collect unopened stuff with Marcus Allen showing, and this kind of thing can't become available very often, can it?

The guy who bought the Killer, has bought some very nice (and expensive) unopened product in the past.

    Jeff...

I imagine that we'll be seeing a few more K packages from Mr. Atkins in the near future.....

(Look closely at the centering on those unopened packages...Hmmmmm......esp. the Rose and Bench)

KING KELLOGG brings up a good point. Generally speaking, I've noticed that the unopened singles tend to have some centering problems among other things.

One argument could be that with the availability of 9 or higher Kelloggs out there
a collector may move on to a complete UNOPENED set for 70 Kelloggs.

Anyone know how much Single UNOPENED is offered as opposed to PSA 9?

It's pretty rare in comparison, but there has been a lot lately of the unopened stuff on Ebay.

Remember -- it is only with the unopened Kellogg's packages that you are able to earn SCD's "untouched" designation.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Then you could collect the whole set in graded, un-opened form. That would be costly at the current prices... So, who's up for the challenge? image

Wow! If these prices could be had on individual cards in those awful original sleeves. Imagine what the $ would be if they had the HOF'ers showing on these type packs? ...jay
