does it make dateless Buffs worth more by nick-o-dateing them?
also,how long does it take to work.
would a dealer do it for me or if not how much does it cost for this magic potion.

Nothing wrong with Nic-a-date. I have used nic-a-date on several rolls of dateless buffalo nickels. These slugs would really be worthless without being able to see the date. I have found that 90% of dateless buffalo nickels are from the teens, which is logical (circulated more). I have found some tough dates this way. Put it this way, a dateless buffalo grades PO-1 or FR-2 at best. A nickel that has been acid treated in still PO-1 or FR-2, but at least you know what it is and you can truly fill holes in your album. The stuff really works.

I'd rather eat barbed wire and wash it down with a glass of carpet tacks before collecting acid dated buffalo nickels.

I found an acid-dated '13-D Type 2 in a batch of Buffalos, recently. It was tough to read the date even after they'd acid treated it, but, hey... I paid maybe a quarter for the coin, and sold it for a few dollars!

I take it that Nic-A-Date will not work on dateless SLQ's, though, right?

Nic-a-date is DEADLY to any metal other than nickel. Now if you will excuse me, my wife just cooked up a nice big pot of barbed wire and I am very hungry.
