Just talked to Customer Service.. What stage is "verification"?

I just called to see if they could tell me anything about where my submission was. All the rep would say was that it was in "verification" and that my submission was on the 44th business day and that they are running 60 business days. I guess that means it doesn't matter what you were told when the coins were received. What stage of the process is "verification"?

"Verification" is the same place the other sock goes in the dryer.image

PS: It used to mean the grades were a couple days away. Lately, more like ten days or so.

"Verification" means that if PCGS doesn't have any shows, or any dealers in, and if the Santa Ana winds are blowing, you might see your coins in the next month or so!!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • It means they have lost yer coins and are trying to verify how much they were REALLY worth.imageimage

I'm not sure what it means, but I was told by customer service that my Jan 14 package was in "verification" three weeks ago. They have not yet been shipped.

Edited to say that I just got my grades a few minutes ago!

Doesn't verification mean they opened your package and are checking your invoice to make sure the coins you said are in the package are actually in the package?
  • I know this one, I know this one...hehe. No it means the coins have been graded and someone in verifying that what you sent in is what you get back....Yippee, I have answered my first coin question, a virgin no longer (quite a suprise given my great looks)image

If mine was any indication, verification is where your box of coins sits on the verifier's desk for about 10 days before they get to it. Since your order was about 2 weeks behind mine in arriving, sounds like you got another 10 days since I got my results yesterday...

Well, today was business day #44. If mine goes 54 like yours did, and then the time to make it here from So Cal registered, I am very likely to see my NGC submission I sent off on March 17 before I get these back from PCGS. And I sent these to PCGS on Jan 31.
