OT: War is "over"

We now have control of Baghdad. The Iraqi people are celebrating in the streets and tearing down the looming statues. What a wonderful day image Now we just need to bring our boys and girls home.

  • There is much to do before the war is "over". We still have the area north of baghdad to work with and that may be the hardest part due to the tribal loyity to Sadam. Is Sadam still alive will I'm reminded about a great American movie - Caddie shack - were you have Bill Murry trying to kill the rodent and each time it pops it's head out of a different hole after he trys to kill it. I expect him to pop up soon.

Even if what you say is true (and I think you're a bit premature), the hard part will be winning the peace. Our troops will be there for several years.

i don't think Baghdad is the objective, Saddam is. They'd be fools to call it off now.

  • It far from over. this is just a nice big piece of the cake. Now there is the whole other half up to the north. His home town and his power base. Let keep the troops in our prayers and hope this is over very quickly.
