Congrats to Zardoz

Breaking out the 1950 Callahan HOF set

Very impressive overall! I never realized that there were so many variations.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Zardoz - Great undertaking! One of the hundred things I collect is Eddie Plank (He's a local boy from Gettysburg) and I'm not set up for the registry since I have many newer issues, so its a standard collection, not registry worthy! The only PSA card I have in fact is the 1950 Callahan in PSA-8 that you can have, I'll take your PSA-7 since that will be fine for my needs. Email me at your leisure after your auctions end, I'm still high bidder on the Mays...jay

Joe - I believe the dancing cow was removed in deference to PETA's claim of animal exploitation.

Zardoz - We want pics ! We want pics ! We want pics !

I'll have to find that cow - I'll do anything possible to piss off PETA.

Cgts Paul - tough freaking set, I bought some raw sets because I always remembered them being so high grade, then had a heart attack when I realized a lot of the corners were mashed!
Why do I get the feeling, that some cards are worth money, while others are not?

Very impressive! Zardoz always comes up with the goodies.
  • Thanks Guys!

It's one of those sets that I've been working on forever. The little suckers don't come along too often and several of the cards are absolute bears. The set is one of those obscure little sets that's quite attractive, and rarely seen in decent condition.

I decided to put them on the registry as I've reached that point where I can go no further. One of the varieties that I need "books" at something like $20, and a guy who has been collecting them for 10 years has only ever seen one copy of it and at best would have graded a 3. I just wanted to make my mark prior to deciding what to do with them.

I'll get some pics up shortly so you folks that have never seen any can get an idea of what they look like.
