And, at least, these are really good ones! Though I do not know what the planchet flaw is:

1 90055654 1955 50C MS65
1 90055655 1955 50C MS66FL
2 90055656 1955 25C MS66
2 90055657 1955 25C MS65
3 90055658 1955 1C MS66RD
3 90055659 1955 1C MS66RD
4 90055660 1955-D 1C MS64RB
4 90055661 1955-D 1C MS65RB
5 90055662 1955 5C MS64
5 90055663 1955 5C Planchet Flaw
6 90055664 1955 10C MS66
7 90055665 1955-D 25C MS66
8 90055666 1956-D 1C MS64RD
9 90055667 1950-D 5C MS64FS
10 90055668 1943-P 5C MS66
11 90055669 1962 50C PR65

I know that some of these are really good grades!

Looks like it might have been worth the wait. image
  • And there was much rejoicing....image

    Got a thing about 1955, huh ???
  • nwcsnwcs Posts: 13,386 ✭✭✭
Yep, most of these are toned. The two franklin business strikes are incredibly toned. The proof franklin has red toning in the center on obverse and reverse. To be honest, I have no idea what the value of some of these coins are. But I know that the 66FL one with it's electric blue toning on one side and red toning on the other side would probably be a 4 digit coin. And it ain't for sale!! image When I get it back, I'll post pics.

If someone does know some ballpark values of a few of those coins, lemme know. More for my curiosity and insurance purposes than anything else. Thanks!

Most of those coins came from a 1955 mint set. I wasn't going to send them in, but when I was considering putting them into a capital holder and saw how beautiful some were, I couldn't resist.

I see that I have a PM already... image I'll post a picture when I get it. It's an absolutely beautiful coin. I thought it would go FL, but you never know how PCGS will see it.

    Neil,

Did those two MS66RD Lincolns also come out of the set? If so, that is very odd. Usually double Mint Sets are the last place I'd look for gem red Lincolns.

NWCS- Glad to see the standstill resulted in some grades. You should ask David Hall, in the next Q&A, how many sets of eyes had to review the color coins before they would allow them to be holdered. Congrats on the grades!

If you don't mind my asking, how much did you have to give for the mint set? image
  • nwcsnwcs Posts: 13,386 ✭✭✭
I believe I paid $120 for the mint set, so I did pretty well. image Originally, I wasn't going to slab them but I changed my mind when I saw the other side of the coins. I had the set open for trade once, too, but everyone kept deciding against it.

    Neil

I should get the coins back either today or tomorrow.

    What kind of planchet flaw?

Not sure. I can barely remember them. BTW, I did get 2 MS67 mercs graded from NGC that should be back today or tomorrow. I thought one would be FB. Must have been a just-miss.
